The Process

How It Works

Step 01 — Collection Book Donations We collect new, age-appropriate books for children of all reading levels — from picture books for the youngest patients to chapter books for teens.
Books accepted in both English and Spanish. All donations must be new to ensure the health and safety of children in treatment.
Step 02 — Delivery Delivery & Partnerships The LIVS Creative Legacy team personally delivers curated book bundles to oncology units at our hospital partners across the DMV.
Books are placed in oncology units and family waiting rooms — wherever children and families need a moment of escape and comfort most.

Leah's Book Club brings the comfort and magic of stories to children undergoing cancer treatment. By delivering age-appropriate books to oncology units and family waiting rooms, we aim to spark imagination, ease the long hours of treatment, and create moments of connection for children and their families during a challenging journey.

Books are donated in both English and Spanish, ensuring every child — regardless of language — can find a story that speaks to them.
